Man Without A Country, The
$4.00
Pauline Phelps. An adaptation from Edward Everett Hale's story of the same name. 5 m. 2 f. or by easy doubling, 3 m. 1 f. Int. 30 min. Good Patriotic play. The spirit of the original story is all here, and in a very actable version. Philip Nolan, an officer in the U.S. Army, when censured for un-Americanism, has said: 'Damn the United States, I wish I may never hear its name again.' He is taken at his word and for the rest of his life becomes a 'man without a country.' The play is in four episodes, and Patriotic music may be interspersed. The first scene would be effective by itself if a very short Patriotic number is desired. A minimum of 9 copies required for performance.
